Meet the Team

When you come and see one of the counsellors in the team at Connex Counselling, it's our job to help you to relax and feel at ease with talking about the things that are important to you. We will see you in a comfortable room where we can take things at your own pace.

At Connex Counselling we use the Person Centred Approach. This means that we do not tell you what to do or think. During the counselling session you will have the time to explore your feelings as you wish. Each session is fully confidential.

Nicola Pilgrim – Head Counsellor

I run a busy and diverse private practice helping clients with a large range of challenges.

I am founder and CEO of the fastest growing counselling service for disadvantaged people in Nottingham.

I also work as a supervisor and trainer within the field of counselling.

I have worked extensively with people who are carers of family members with life limiting illnesses.

I set up and ran a government funded counselling service for the hardest to reach ethnic minorities of the inner city of Nottingham.

I work within the Connex Counselling practice as a counsellor and supervisor.

I also do specialist counselling using Animal Assisted Therapy. (Please see my web page on this Connex Counselling site, ‘Animal Assisted Therapy’). This counselling is ideal for children and young people, particularly those with complex needs.

I have many years experience of working with and supporting children and their families. My expertise is working alongside children classed as having emotional and behavioural difficulties.

All the team at Connex Counselling hold professionally recognised qualifications and work within the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for Good Practice’.

As counsellors in Nottingham, we are committed to anti-discriminatory practice, and we welcome all clients regardless of their background beliefs and culture.
